How to care for woollen blankets

Proper care of woollen blankets and throws will ensure their longevity and quality. Here are some tips on how best to care for them:

Wash only on a wool programme

Use only the wool programme on your washing machine. This program gradually changes temperatures from cold to warm and back to cold to avoid shocking the wool, which helps maintain its softness and texture.

We recommend using products designed specifically for wool, ideally containing lanolin, which helps keep the fibres supple and soft. Regular care will ensure that your wool blankets and shawls remain beautiful and comfortable for many years.

Totally turn off wringing

When washing your wool blankets and shawls, turn off the wringing function. Allow them to drain and drip freely to prevent damage to the fibres. Dry them unfolded, ideally draped over the dryer.

Less is more

There is no need to over-wash blankets and shawls. Wool has a self-cleaning ability due to its unique properties. This means that bacteria and mould do not breed in wool, nor does dirt cling to it. It thus maintains its freshness for a long time.

Remember that proper maintenance is the key to the longevity and preservation of the quality of your favourite fabric pieces.
